Chapter 8 - The Cornered Snake

The heavy, agonizing truth settled over the grand corridor.
Don Moretti slowly closed his fist tightly around the gold button. The sharp metal bit into his palm, grounding him in the violent, devastating reality. He had spent three years mourning a child that had been living in his own basement, scrubbing floors under the guise of a servant’s daughter. And the woman who orchestrated the murder had been sleeping in his bed.
Isabella realized her entire kingdom had just violently collapsed. The cornered snake lashed out.
"It's a lie!" Isabella shrieked, completely losing her elegant, high-society facade. She turned wildly to the armed syndicate guards standing near the doors. "She's a delusional, psychotic servant! Shoot her! Shoot them both right now! That is an order from your future Don!"
Not a single guard moved. They didn't even blink. Their absolute loyalty belonged entirely to the man kneeling on the floor.
Don Moretti slowly stood up. The vulnerable, grieving father completely vanished, instantly replaced by the terrifying, ruthless apex predator of the American underworld.
He slowly turned his head to look at Isabella.

"You let the Falcones into my home," Don Moretti whispered. His voice was deadly quiet, but it carried a lethal, demonic promise that made the hair on the back of Isabella's neck stand straight up. "You murdered my wife. And you forced my daughter to live like a rat in the dark."
👉 Isabella tried to run, but the punishment for her treason was about to be swift, brutal, and deeply satisfying.
