Chapter 22 - the sky hostage

Olivia was analyzing quarterly reports in her executive penthouse when the red emergency phone on her mahogany desk began to ring violently. It was a secure line connected directly to the airline's global flight control center.

Inheriting a terrifyingly cold composure, Olivia answered the phone. The flight controller's voice was shaking with paralyzing panic. Flight 808 had completely vanished from the primary radar, and the pilots were locked out of the controls.

"It's a digital hijacking, Ms. Sterling," the controller reported, his voice cracking. "A rogue server has taken full remote control of the aircraft's autopilot. They are demanding fifty million dollars in untraceable cryptocurrency, or they will crash the plane into the ocean."

Olivia’s dark eyes narrowed to freezing ice. Three hundred innocent passengers were currently trapped in the sky, completely helpless.
