Chapter 7 - The Blue Folder

Stepping into the mansion directly behind the military officer was Howard.

Howard was a sixty-year-old, incredibly ruthless corporate attorney wearing a sharp gray suit. He was carrying a thick, heavy blue folder.

When Ethan saw Howard, a wave of desperate, pathetic relief washed over his pale face. Howard was the lawyer Ethan had secretly hired to draft the fraudulent divorce papers. Ethan thought Howard was finally arriving to execute the eviction.

"Howard! Thank God!" Ethan yelled, pointing frantically at Claire. "Serve her the papers! Get this crazy woman and her fake soldiers out of my house right now!"

Howard didn't smile. He didn't walk toward Claire.

He walked directly up to Ethan and shoved the heavy blue folder forcefully into the billionaire’s chest.

"What are you doing?" Ethan panicked, looking down at the blue folder. "These aren't the divorce papers!"

"No, Ethan. They are the true ownership documents of this estate," Howard stated coldly, adjusting his glasses. "I don't work for you. I work for the Department of Defense's asset management firm. And you have made a catastrophic mistake."

Ethan opened the blue folder with violently trembling hands.
