Chapter 8 - The Financial Guillotine

"This house isn't yours, Ethan," Claire finally spoke.
Her voice wasn't loud, but it carried a lethal, titanium authority that cut through the silence like a scalpel.
"When we got married, you wanted to start a tech company but you were completely broke," Claire explained clinically. "I used my classified military trust fund to secretly seed your startup through an anonymous shell corporation. I paid for this mansion. I paid for your cars. I own ninety-two percent of your company."
Margaret sobbed hysterically on the marble floor.
"I let you pretend you were the breadwinner because I loved you, and my job required me to remain invisible," Claire whispered, her blue eyes turning pitch black. "But then you decided to forge divorce papers. You tried to steal my son. You tried to throw me out of my own house."
Ethan physically staggered backward, dropping the blue folder onto the floor.
"No... no, Claire, please!" Ethan wept wildly, completely abandoning his arrogant billionaire facade. "I'm sorry! The affair meant nothing! I was just stressed! Please, I'm your husband!"
"Not anymore," Claire replied smoothly. "Howard, execute the transfer."

Howard pulled out his tablet. "Consider it done, Colonel. Ethan Vance's accounts are entirely frozen. He has been legally stripped of his CEO title, and his personal assets are being seized for corporate embezzlement."
👉 Ethan and Margaret thought they could beg for forgiveness, but Claire was about to take out the trash in front of everyone.
