Chapter 2 - The Arrogant Challenge

Grant scoffed, looking at the device in his hands with pure aristocratic disgust. The screen of Fiona’s smartphone was heavily cracked, a spiderweb of shattered glass barely holding the digital display together.

But it wasn't a social media app open on the screen. It was a highly complex, deeply layered financial terminal displaying shifting stock charts and moving averages.

Grant leaned in arrogantly, resting his tattooed forearms on the white tablecloth. He waved the cracked screen right in Fiona's face, fully expecting the broke waitress to shrink away in tears, beg for her phone back, and run back to the kitchen in absolute shame.

"Give me some advice, sweetheart," Grant grinned, his voice dripping with condescending venom as his friends chuckled behind him. "What should I buy? Should I put a hundred bucks into crypto? Or maybe I should invest in whatever company makes these hideous pink uniforms?"

Derek and Nolan laughed harder, raising their crystal champagne flutes to toast Grant’s ruthless humor.

Fiona stood her ground. Her slow eye movement tracked the heavy gold watch on Grant's wrist, then moved up to his arrogant, stubbled face. She didn't reach for the phone. She didn't break eye contact. She let the silence stretch, a small pause before speaking that made the air around the table suddenly feel incredibly thick.

👉 The billionaire expected her to beg, but the broke waitress was about to deliver a chilling reality check.
