Chapter 9 - The Final Trap

Survival instinct violently overrode Grant's shock. The Wall Street billionaire vanished, and the dangerous, heavily tattooed mobster took over.
"You think you can take me down?" Grant hissed, his voice dropping into a dark, feral growl. He dropped his phone and took a sudden, aggressive step toward Fiona, his massive hands balling into fists. "I own half the judges in this city! You won't make it to the elevator, you little—"
Before Grant could even raise his hand to strike her, Fiona didn't flinch. She simply raised her hand and snapped her fingers once.
The luxurious rooftop restaurant instantly transformed.
Derek and Nolan, his supposedly loyal friends in the beige and white suits, didn't jump up to help him. Instead, they quickly stood up and backed away, completely abandoning him.
At the sound of Fiona's snap, twelve "wealthy guests" sitting at the surrounding tables simultaneously stood up, pulling back their expensive designer jackets to reveal federal badges and holstered weapons. The exits were immediately blocked. The entire rooftop had been a staged sting operation.
Grant froze, entirely surrounded. His chest heaved as he looked at the federal agents closing in, then back to the woman in the pink retro uniform.
