Chapter 9 - THE POSTAL INSPECTOR
A retired postal inspector named Samuel Ortiz contacted Arthur’s legal team.
He remembered the returned letters.
Too many certified envelopes addressed to one famous person.
Too many refused with identical initials.
Samuel had flagged them years earlier.
His supervisor closed the review after a Collins Foundation attorney claimed the mail involved harassment.
The attorney was Jonathan Reed.
Samuel kept copies of the tracking records.
They showed letters reached the Collins residence.
Someone signed.
Then reclassified them as refused.
Security footage from the mailroom no longer existed.
Access logs did.
Eleanor’s personal assistant entered on each date.
The assistant, Rebecca Lane, had vanished after leaving Collins employment.
Federal investigators found her in Vermont.
She had saved one box.
Inside were unopened letters from Madeline, ultrasound photographs, and hospital debt notices.
Rebecca testified Eleanor ordered her to intercept everything.
