Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable Family

"Mr. Ethan!" Maya cheered, running up to him and holding out the plate. "I brought you the biggest piece of cake!"

Ethan smiled, his heart swelling with absolute, unshakeable peace. He didn't hesitate. He effortlessly scooped the brave ten-year-old girl up into his strong arms, spinning her around as she laughed with pure, innocent joy.

"Thank you, Maya," Ethan laughed, holding her tightly. "But you know you don't have to call me 'Mr. Ethan' anymore."

"I know," Maya beamed, hugging his neck. "You're just Ethan now."

Ethan set her down gently, looking out over the beautiful, peaceful life he had reclaimed. He had survived a monster, and he had completely destroyed the woman who tried to end his life. But more importantly, he had found a true family in the ashes of the betrayal.

He knew that no matter how much money he made, or how many corporate empires he built, his greatest asset would always be the brave little girl who walked up to his wheelchair and told him the truth.
