Chapter 6 - THE CLASSIFIED PHONE

Sheriff Miller called Victoria’s smartphone a prop.
It was not.
The device connected to a military continuity system used for protected witnesses and national security personnel.
Emily’s emergency code activated that system before the dinner sedative took effect.
The final audio uploaded automatically.
Victoria’s phone displayed verified timestamps and chain-of-custody records.
When Miller grabbed it, he attempted to seize federal evidence.
When he shoved Victoria, he assaulted an active-duty colonel during a protected operation.
His confidence had been built on county borders.
The encrypted phone moved the case beyond them.
The lobby raid secured the hospital.
Agents locked elevators.
Kelly handed over access logs.
Doctors were separated for interviews.
Margaret attempted to call the governor.
Her phone had already been cloned under warrant.
Ethan asked for his mother.
No one answered.
Emily remained in the wheelchair, staring at Victoria.
The agents wanted to move her.
Victoria asked first.
“Do you want me beside you?”
Emily nodded.
May you like
Only then did Victoria touch the chair.
That small question mattered more than the salute.
