Chapter 9 - The Final Judgment

Lorenzo raised his phone and dialed a completely different number.
"Call the Russian syndicate," Lorenzo ordered his head enforcer, who had just rushed into the room. "Tell them Victor was the one who intentionally leaked their shipping routes to the feds last year to cover his own embezzlement. Tell them he’s sitting tied up in my loading dock right now. Let the wolves handle the thief."
Victor let out a guttural, agonizing shriek of pure, apocalyptic terror.
"And her?" the enforcer asked, pointing at Camilla.
"Hand her, the poison, and the burner phone over to the FBI," Lorenzo commanded coldly. "Let her rot in a concrete cell."
The massive enforcers didn't hesitate. They hauled the screaming, weeping traitors to their feet. They dragged them down the long hallway, their pathetic, humiliated screams echoing through the grand estate until the heavy steel doors slammed shut, permanently swallowing their toxic existence into violent ruin.
The threat was entirely neutralized. The empire was secure.
The chaotic, violent energy completely evaporated from the tiny servant's room.
Lorenzo stood up, smoothing his tailored black suit. He took a deep, steadying breath. He turned around and looked at the woman and child sitting on the floor.
Elena was trembling violently, overwhelmed by the massive adrenaline dump. She had just witnessed the terrifying, legendary justice of the mafia king, and she fully expected to be fired.
