Chapter 8 - The Financial Guillotine

"Freeze her offshore investments," Dante continued ruthlessly over the speakerphone, his dark eyes locked onto the weeping woman. "Call in every single one of her family's corporate debts. I want her completely bankrupt, destitute, and stripped of every asset she owns by the time the market opens tomorrow morning."
"Understood, Boss," the CFO replied smoothly. "The transfer is complete. She is entirely insolvent."
Serena physically sagged against the cold floor, her entire toxic existence turning to ash. She had just cost her family their billionaire legacy. They were permanently, completely ruined.
She had tried to kill for a massive fortune, and in exactly sixty seconds, she had lost absolutely everything she ever had.
But Dante wasn't finished. He turned his lethal gaze toward Victor, who was bleeding and thrashing on the floor.
"You set up the ambush," Dante whispered. "You tried to take my crown."
"I built this empire with you!" Victor wept hysterically, tears ruining his expensive suit. "I deserved to run it! You were getting soft! Just let me go to prison, Dante! I'll confess to the police!"
"You aren't going to prison," Dante replied smoothly.
Dante dialed a new, heavily encrypted number. "Call the Russian syndicate. Tell them Victor was the one who skimmed from their diamond shipment last year. Tell them he’s sitting in the hospital basement right now. Let the wolves handle the thief."
