Chapter 10 - The Loyalty Rewarded

"Call this number in the morning," Luca told Emma gently. "It goes directly to my private investigator. I want you to tell him exactly where Marisol is. I am going to bring her back, and I am going to personally pay her a settlement large enough that she will never have to scrub another floor again."
Emma gasped, her hands flying to her mouth. "Mr. Luca... really?"
"Really," Luca nodded. "And as for you, Emma."
He looked at her classic black and white maid uniform, then at her tear-stained, courageous face.
"You are no longer a maid in this house," Luca declared. "As of tonight, you are the Head of Estate Operations. Your salary is quintupled. You have full authority over the staff, and a private suite in the east wing. No one will ever disrespect you in my home again."
Emma couldn't speak. She just broke down into heavy, beautiful sobs of absolute relief, nodding her head in gratitude.
Within a week, the scandal completely rocked the city. Senator Thorne was arrested and indicted on multiple charges of assault and corruption, his career entirely burned to the ground. Vanessa was charged with extortion and blackmail, denied bail, and locked in a federal holding cell, utterly abandoned by her wealthy friends.
Marisol was brought back to the estate, welcomed with open arms and a massive financial apology that completely changed her family's life.

And Emma? She took over the mansion. She ruled the staff with kindness and fierce loyalty, transforming the cold, terrifying estate into a true sanctuary. Luca never questioned her judgment again, knowing that the bravest person in his empire wasn't a heavily armed guard, but a young woman in an apron who simply refused to back down.
Do you think Luca’s punishment for Vanessa and the Senator was harsh enough, or did they deserve worse?
