Chapter 3 - The Red Mark

The heavy, toxic silence in the grand dining room was absolutely deafening.
A tight close-up focused entirely on Alessandro’s face. The terrifying mafia boss didn't yell. His quietness was infinitely more terrifying. His slow, deliberate eye movement tracked directly from the shattered antique porcelain on the marble floor to the tears streaming down Meline’s cheeks.
Then, he saw it.
His dark eyes locked onto the massive, aggressively red welt burning across Meline's exposed arm. His handsome face darkened with a cold, absolute, and demonic fury that completely paralyzed the room. The ruthless, untouchable apex predator was violently awakened.
Alessandro didn't look at the expensive broken bowl. He didn't care about the multi-million-dollar antiques.
He took one slow, deliberate step into the dining room.
"Who put a hand on her?" Alessandro whispered coldly, his deep voice dropping to a freezing, lethal frequency that completely sucked the air out of the massive room.

All the color violently drained from her powdered face, leaving her looking like a terrified ghost. She opened her mouth to speak, desperately trying to formulate a pathetic excuse to save her own life.
👉 But she didn't get the chance, because the retired don was ready to deliver the final verdict.
