Chapter 5 - The Son's Loyalty

The heavy, dead silence in the university auditorium was absolutely deafening. Every single camera phone in the crowd was raised, recording the massive, emotional confrontation.
Noah didn't burst into tears. He didn't reach his hand out to the kneeling man.
The brilliant eighteen-year-old sat perfectly still in his black robe. His natural micro-expressions didn't show a single ounce of vulnerability. He possessed the exact same cold, calculated, and terrifyingly composed energy as his mother.
Noah slowly stood up to his full height, towering over the kneeling fraud.
"My father was a good, honorable man," Noah stated clinically, his deep voice radiating undeniable authority. "He died in a tragic accident eighteen years ago. I visit his grave every Sunday. I don't know who you are, but you are absolutely nothing to me."
Vincent’s fake, theatrical tears instantly vanished. His jaw literally unhinged as his toxic ego flared. The sophisticated victim persona violently fractured, revealing the arrogant, violent monster hiding beneath the three-piece suit.

"Listen to me, you arrogant brat," Vincent hissed viciously, dropping his voice to a lethal, threatening whisper as he stood up. "I am on your birth certificate. I am your legal guardian. Under state law, I am entitled to half of everything you just earned. You are going to sign a conservatorship today, or I will tie your patent up in federal court for a decade."
👉 Vincent thought the law was his ultimate weapon, entirely oblivious to the lethal document resting in Claire’s designer purse.
