Chapter 5 - The Brother's Betrayal

The cinematic tension in the dark warehouse reached a suffocating, apocalyptic peak.
Marco physically staggered backward, all the color violently draining from his arrogant face. His cigar slipped from his fingers, landing on the dirty concrete.
"Vincent..." Marco stammered, his voice cracking with pure, unadulterated panic. "What... what are you doing here?"
Vincent didn't yell. The terrifying, freezing calm of his demeanor was a thousand times worse than anger. He walked slowly forward, his dark eyes locked entirely onto the brother who had betrayed his soul.
"Drop your weapons," Vincent commanded Marco's men softly.
The enforcers looked at Marco, then looked at the twenty tactical rifles aimed at their heads. They immediately dropped their guns and fell to their knees in absolute surrender.
Marco was left standing completely alone.
"Vinnie, wait!" Marco shrieked hysterically, completely abandoning his tough-guy persona. He dropped his pistol and held his hands up. "It's not what it looks like! She was plotting against the family! I was protecting you!"
Vincent stopped exactly three feet away from his brother.
"She sent me a photograph, Marco," Vincent whispered, his voice echoing with absolute, titanium authority. "With my daughter."
Marco’s knees buckled. The realization that his six-year lie was completely exposed crushed the air from his lungs.
"Please, Vinnie! We're blood!" Marco wept desperately, dropping to his knees on the concrete. "I did it for the syndicate! She was making you soft! I had to protect our empire!"
