Chapter 7 - The Family Reunited

The chaotic, violent energy completely evaporated from the dark warehouse.
Vincent’s men silently secured the perimeter, giving the boss absolute privacy. Vincent turned around and walked slowly toward the rusted metal chair where Clara was still tied.
He holstered his weapon. His hands were trembling violently as he pulled a knife and gently cut the thick ropes binding her wrists.
Clara stood up. She looked exhausted, bruised, but incredibly beautiful.
Vincent didn't speak. He dropped his knife, wrapped his massive arms around her, and buried his face in her neck. The terrifying, cold mafia boss broke down entirely, weeping with profound, overwhelming relief.
"You're alive," Vincent choked out, holding her as if letting go would make her disappear again. "I thought I lost you. I am so sorry."
"I'm here, Vincent," Clara whispered, crying into his shoulder, her hands gripping his suit jacket fiercely. "I'm here."
Vincent slowly pulled back, his dark eyes filled with absolute, undeniable devotion.
"Our daughter," Vincent said softly. "She's safe. She's waiting for us."
An hour later, the massive steel door of the subterranean vault in the luxury office building clicked open.
Mia was sitting on a plush sofa, her pink sparkly backpack resting beside her. When she saw Clara walk through the door, she screamed with joy and ran into her mother's arms.
Vincent knelt beside them, wrapping his arms around both his girls. The dark shadows of cruelty and betrayal were permanently banished from his life.

Vincent didn't return to the syndicate. He dismantled his violent operations, completely legitimized his billionaire empire, and dedicated every single second of his life to protecting the family he almost lost.
If you were Vincent, would you have handed Marco over to the police, or was giving him to the rival cartel the ultimate, perfect justice?
