Chapter 6 - The Exploding Table

Wide shot: Lucas didn't walk into the dining room; he stormed in like a hurricane.

The formally dressed guests sitting around the large, round dark wood dining table suddenly stopped talking, turning their heads in shock as the heavy mahogany doors swung violently open.

Sitting at the head of the table was Eleanor, sipping a glass of expensive red wine, laughing at a joke told by a relative.

She froze completely as she saw her son standing in the doorway, his chest heaving, his face twisted into a mask of pure, unadulterated murder.

"Lucas! Darling, you're home early—" Eleanor started, standing up from her chair with a fake, welcoming smile, entirely misreading the terrifying aura radiating from her son.

Lucas didn't let her finish. He didn't yell a warning.

He marched straight to the side of the massive, heavy round dark wood dining table. He reached his strong hands underneath the polished mahogany edge. With a massive, terrifying roar of pure, primal paternal fury, Lucas engaged his entire core and violently flipped the entire dining table completely over.

The destruction was absolute, deafening, and spectacular.

The heavy wood table crashed violently onto the marble floor. Dozens of fine china plates, crystal water glasses, expensive wine bottles, and gourmet dishes exploded outward, shattering into a thousand pieces and sending food flying chaotically across the room.
