Chapter 6 - The Traitors' Celebration

While Vincent sat in his penthouse processing the massive revelation, the men responsible for the murder were celebrating.
Across the city, in the lavish, private VIP room of an exclusive, high-end steakhouse, the corporate board of Dominic’s tech firm was raising glasses of thousand-dollar champagne. The slick corporate attorney, who had tried to attack Charlotte at the funeral, sat at the head of the table, laughing loudly.
"To the future of the company!" the attorney cheered arrogantly, his grey suit catching the dim, expensive lighting of the restaurant.
"And to Dominic," a corrupt board member sneered maliciously, clinking his crystal glass. "May he rest in peace, while we sell his patents to the highest bidder."
The men laughed, completely consumed by their toxic, unchecked greed. They genuinely believed they had committed the perfect, untraceable murder. They had successfully cut the brakes, bribed the medical examiner, and secured the multi-million-dollar tech patents for themselves.
The attorney took a massive sip of champagne, feeling like an absolute, untouchable king. He had been slightly panicked when Vincent stepped in at the funeral, but he assumed the mafia boss was simply paying respects to an old childhood friend. He had absolutely no idea that the cracked digital recorder had survived the crash, and he certainly didn't know that the little girl was Vincent's biological daughter.
"We sign the merger documents at midnight," the attorney announced smoothly, wiping his mouth with a linen napkin. "Once the ink is dry, the rival syndicate wires fifty million dollars into our offshore accounts."

👉 The arrogant men raised their glasses for another toast, completely unaware that a heavily armed tactical team had just surrounded the building.
