Chapter 5 - The Desperate Antidote

The security footage continued to play in the dark office, sealing the fate of everyone involved.

Ten minutes after the toxic cartel princess left the suite, believing she had successfully delivered another dose of death, the heavy mahogany doors silently swung open again.

Elena, wearing her classic black and white maid's uniform, slipped into the room like a ghost.

She didn't look at the expensive crystal lamps or the luxury decor. Moving with panicked, desperate speed, Elena pulled a medical cooler from her cleaning cart. She expertly disconnected the poisoned IV bag Camilla had just tainted. In its place, she attached a fresh, clean saline drip infused with a black-market chelating agent—a rare, highly specific antidote meant to flush heavy metals from the bloodstream.

Elena wasn't just a mother; she had been a trauma nurse before she met Lorenzo. She had diagnosed the poisoning from afar and infiltrated the heavily guarded fortress to administer the cure.

The camera caught an extreme close-up of Elena’s face. She was weeping silently, tears streaming down her cheeks as she gently kissed Sophie’s pale forehead. She couldn't speak to her daughter. She couldn't hold her. She could only save her life in the shadows before vanishing back into the servant's quarters.

Elena was the only reason Sophie was still breathing. She was risking daily execution, sneaking into a mafia stronghold, just to keep her firstborn child alive.

👉 Lorenzo watched the woman he loved risking everything for their child, and the ruthless, untouchable apex predator inside him completely awakened.
