Chapter 7 - The Cartel Princess's Threat
"Camilla ordered the car crash four years ago, Lorenzo," Elena wept, her body trembling violently as she clung to his black suit vest.
The revelation hit Lorenzo like a physical bullet to the chest.
"She knew I was pregnant with Mia," Elena sobbed, finally releasing the terrifying burden she had carried for years. "Her family intercepted my car. They rigged the brakes. When I survived and woke up in the hospital, Camilla was sitting by my bed. She told me that if I ever came back, if I ever told you the truth, she would personally slaughter Sophie in her crib."
Elena had faked her death and disappeared into poverty to protect both of her children. But when she heard whispers in the underworld that the Boss's daughter was suddenly dying of a mysterious illness, she knew Camilla was finally tying up loose ends to secure the empire.
"I couldn't let her die, Lorenzo," Elena whispered, looking up at him with fierce, undeniable maternal courage. "I had to come back."
Lorenzo gently wiped the tears from Elena’s exhausted face. The overwhelming guilt he felt was instantly incinerated, replaced by a dark, demonic, and utterly lethal promise of violence. Camilla hadn't just poisoned his daughter; she had orchestrated the destruction of his entire life.
