Chapter 9 - The Lethal Toast

The elegant classical music abruptly cut off, plunging the ballroom into a suffocating, terrifying silence.

Lorenzo walked slowly down the grand sweeping staircase. He didn't look like a grieving, broken father. He wore a razor-sharp black suit, his dark eyes radiating pure, untouchable, and completely lethal authority. The apex predator had arrived to claim his territory.

Following closely behind him was Marco, holding a massive stack of medical and financial documents.

"My wife has an announcement," Lorenzo stated clinically, his deep voice echoing off the crystal chandeliers and freezing the blood of everyone in the room.

He didn't yell. He didn't pull a weapon. With absolute precision, Lorenzo threw the stack of documents onto the center display table.

"Those are the certified toxicology reports for my daughter," Lorenzo announced to the Five Families. "Along with high-definition security footage of Camilla injecting heavy-metal toxins into a six-year-old child's IV line. And beneath that are the offshore wire transfers proving she hired the hitman who attempted to murder my fiancée four years ago."

The cinematic realism of the absolute, crushing betrayal paralyzed the cartel bosses. In the mafia, internal warfare was expected, but harming a Boss's innocent child was an unforgivable, undeniable death sentence.
