Chapter 6 - The Eviction

Lorenzo didn't yell. The cinematic realism of his total restraint was infinitely more terrifying than a violent outburst.
He didn't pull a weapon, but he snapped his fingers.
Instantly, four massive, heavily armed syndicate enforcers stepped out from the shadows of the grand ballroom. They completely bypassed the terrified, wealthy guests and marched directly toward Victoria.
"Throw her out," Lorenzo commanded flawlessly, entirely devoid of mercy. "And contact her father. Tell him the alliance is officially permanently severed. If his cartel ever steps foot in my city again, I will burn it to the ground."
"No!" Victoria wailed hysterically, thrashing and kicking wildly as the massive enforcers violently grabbed her expensive dark red dress. "You can't do this! You need my family!"
"I don't need anyone," Lorenzo whispered lethally, completely turning his back on the screaming traitor.
The guards dragged the weeping, panicking Victoria right across the pristine marble floor, slipping slightly in her expensive heels. Her desperate, pathetic cries faded into the distance, ending her reign of psychological cruelty and arrogant greed forever.
The grand ballroom fell into a profound, heavy, and incredibly peaceful silence.

Lorenzo turned back to Emma. He was breathing heavily, his hands completely steady. He had just brutally purged his empire and started a massive cartel war, all to protect the woman standing in front of him.
