Chapter 8 - The Financial Guillotine
"Adrian, I beg of you!" Victoria wailed, crawling across the shattered porcelain on the floor, ignoring the cuts on her knees. Her silk gown was ruined. "He forced me to do it! Marcus threatened to kill my family if I didn't poison you! I love you!"
"You love my empire," Adrian corrected softly, entirely immune to her fake, pathetic tears.
Adrian didn't pull a weapon. A quick bullet in the dining room was far too generous for a monster who had smiled in his face while actively destroying his heart.
He pulled his encrypted smartphone from his pocket. He dialed his Chief Financial Officer, putting the call on speaker so Victoria could hear her absolute, total devastation.
"Initiate the hostile takeover of Victoria's father's importing business," Adrian ordered smoothly, his eyes locked onto the weeping woman.
"No! Adrian, please! My family has nothing to do with this!" Victoria shrieked, clawing at his polished leather shoes.
"Liquidate their stock," Adrian continued ruthlessly, completely ignoring her. "Call in every single one of their corporate debts. Freeze their offshore supply chains. I want her family completely bankrupt, destitute, and stripped of every asset they own by the time the market opens today."
"Understood, Boss," the CFO replied smoothly. "The transfer is complete. They are entirely insolvent."
Victoria physically sagged against the hardwood floor, her entire toxic existence turning to ash. She had just cost her family their billionaire legacy. They were permanently, completely ruined.
She had tried to kill for a massive fortune, and in return, she had just lost absolutely everything she ever had.
But the financial destruction was only the very beginning of her punishment.
