Chapter 6 - The Financial Guillotine
"I did it for the family!" Marcus wailed, thrashing wildly under the boots of the enforcers. "Julian was weak! He was going to negotiate with the feds! I protected you, Adrian!"
Adrian didn't pull a weapon. Death was far too easy for a man who had murdered his own blood and smiled in his face for four years.
He pulled his encrypted smartphone from his tailored suit jacket.
"Initiate the complete liquidation of Marcus's personal and offshore accounts," Adrian ordered his Chief Financial Officer, putting the phone on speaker so the traitor could hear his own devastation.
"No! Adrian, I beg of you! I have a family!" Marcus shrieked, clawing at the floorboards.
"Transfer every single stolen dollar into an irrevocable trust fund," Adrian continued ruthlessly, completely ignoring the tears. "Call in his corporate debts. Freeze his illegal supply chains. I want him entirely bankrupt, destitute, and stripped of every asset he owns by the time the market opens tomorrow."
"Understood, Boss," the CFO replied smoothly. "The transfer is complete. He is entirely insolvent."
Marcus let out a horrific, high-pitched shriek of pure agony. He had murdered his boss's brother for a massive empire, and in exactly sixty seconds, he had lost absolutely everything he ever owned.
