Chapter 9 - The Stripping of the Queen

Vincent’s elite syndicate guards had already moved into position the moment Victoria walked into the room. Six laser sights were painted directly on the chests of Victoria's two bodyguards.

The cartel guards froze, looking at the lasers, and slowly placed their weapons on the floor, raising their hands in surrender.

"You really thought you could give orders in my city?" Vincent whispered, stepping directly into Victoria’s personal space.

Victoria dropped to her knees on the expensive carpet, sobbing pathetically.

"Please, Vincent!" she begged, trying to grab his polished shoes. "I love you! I can be a good wife! We can send the kid to a boarding school!"

Vincent looked down at her with eyes blacker than midnight.

With blinding speed, he reached down and violently grabbed Victoria’s left hand. He didn't care about being gentle. He ripped the massive, five-carat diamond engagement ring right off her finger, leaving a raw red mark on her skin.

"Take her to the warehouse," Vincent ordered his Head of Security. "Strip her offshore accounts. Transfer every single dollar to a trust fund for my daughter. When you're done, hand her over to the federal authorities with the evidence of her cartel embezzlement. Tell the judge I want her in solitary confinement. Deny her bail."

"No! You can't do this to me!" Victoria shrieked like a banshee, thrashing and kicking wildly.

The guards grabbed her by the arms, violently hauling her out of the VIP lounge. Her desperate, hysterical cries faded down the terminal hallway, ending her reign of greed and cruelty forever.
