Chapter 4 - The Boss's Fury

Ethan didn't even look at Meredith. He didn't care about the wealthy guests, the social embarrassment, or his reputation as a ruthless killer.
He ripped his arm away from Meredith's grasp with such violent, aggressive force that she stumbled backward into the wood paneling, dropping her clutch bag in shock.
Ethan stepped forward, closing the distance between himself and the housekeeping cart. He completely ignored the gasps of the onlookers. His cinematic realism shone through as he looked down at Grace, his eyes completely consumed by desperate, raw, unfiltered emotion.
"She isn't my ex-wife," Ethan said, his voice firm, desperate, and echoing with absolute, terrifying authority. "We never divorced."
Meredith’s jaw dropped. She quickly realized she had completely misread the situation. This wasn't a man embarrassed by his past; this was a man who had just found the only thing he had ever cared about.
Ethan dropped slowly to his knees on the polished marble floor. He didn't care that his tailored black trousers were getting wet from the cleaning spray. He reached out with trembling, heavily tattooed hands, desperate to touch her face, desperate to pull her into his arms.
"Grace," Ethan pleaded, his voice breaking. "My men searched the entire country. The police told me you drowned. Why did you disappear?"
