Fay looked up, wiping her tears. "Anything, sir."
"Call the physical therapist," Dominic ordered, his eyes burning with a newfound, titanium resolve. "Tell him to get back here immediately. Tell him I'm ready to work."
The dark, suffocating depression that had haunted the luxury mansion for three months was completely eradicated.
Over the next year, under Fay’s brilliant, compassionate management, the estate transformed entirely. She fired the toxic staff, bringing in loyal, dedicated people. Her brother received his life-saving surgery and made a full recovery.
And Dominic?
He endured absolute, agonizing hell in the private gym. He sweated, he fell, and he pushed his broken body to the absolute limit. But every single time he wanted to quit, he looked over and saw Fay standing quietly by the door, offering him that same calm, fearless look that had saved him on the Persian rug.
A year later, the Chicago syndicate held a massive celebration. The rival cartels had heard rumors that the boss was permanently broken, and they were planning to move in on his territory.

Dominic didn't roll in on a wheelchair.
He walked into the room. He leaned slightly on a sleek, black cane, but he was standing tall, wearing a flawless tailored suit, projecting the absolute, terrifying aura of an undefeated king. Walking proudly beside him was Fay, wearing a beautiful designer gown.
