Chapter 9 - The Execution of a Traitor

"Vincent, wait! Please!" Leo sobbed, blood pouring from his shattered jaw. "It was business! The Colombians paid me! I didn't want to hurt the boy!"

Vincent’s facial micro-expressions remained completely cold, devoid of a single ounce of empathy. He pressed the gun harder into the soft flesh of the traitor's throat, cutting off his pathetic excuses.

"Take him to the basement," Vincent ordered without looking away from the traitor's terrified eyes. "Don't kill him quickly. Make sure he remembers my wife's name for a very, very long time."

Dominic holstered his weapon. With cold, brutal efficiency, the head of security grabbed Leo by his expensive hair and violently dragged the crying, pleading lieutenant out of the bedroom, leaving a trail of blood on the pristine carpet. The door clicked shut behind them.

The suffocating tension in the room instantly vanished, leaving only a heavy, emotional silence.

Vincent slowly lowered his weapon, engaging the safety before sliding it back into his shoulder holster. His broad shoulders heaved as he fought to control the adrenaline violently coursing through his veins. He slowly turned around.

Clara was still kneeling by the wheelchair. She hadn't flinched during the violence. She was gently stroking Matteo’s hair, whispering soft, calming words into his ear.
