Chapter 8 - The Financial Execution

"You really thought a piece of silver wire could take my throne?" Dante growled softly, pinning Marcus by his broken wrist.

The wealthy guests murmured in confusion, unable to see the violent struggle happening behind Dante's broad, shielding back.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Marcus wept, completely abandoning his arrogant persona. "I'll leave the city! I'll never come back! Just let me walk away!"

"You're not walking anywhere," Dante stated coldly. "While you were sweating across the room, my men already drained your offshore accounts. We seized your penthouse. We liquidated your assets. The three million dollars you owed the Petrov cartel is completely gone."

Marcus’s eyes widened in sheer, suffocating horror. "No... they'll kill me..."

"Exactly," Dante replied smoothly. "You failed the assassination, and you lost their money. You are completely useless to them now."

Dante signaled to his lead enforcer.

"Take the box carefully out to the disposal site and have our experts defuse it," Dante commanded quietly. He looked back down at the weeping, pathetic traitor. "And take Marcus out through the kitchen service doors. Strip him of his suit, his watch, and his phone. Dump him directly on the front steps of the Petrov headquarters."

"Dante, please! They'll torture me!" Marcus shrieked, thrashing wildly as two massive guards violently grabbed his arms.
