Chapter 9 - The Disgraceful Exit

Admiral Vance slowly turned his head to look at Lieutenant Wyler. The sheer disgust on the senior officer’s face was absolutely paralyzing.
"Lieutenant Wyler, your conduct today is a complete disgrace to the United States Navy," Admiral Vance stated clinically, his words echoing through the silent gymnasium. "We do not use our uniforms to bully civilians, and we certainly do not mock the children of our most elite combat veterans."
Wyler was hyperventilating, tears of sheer panic welling in his eyes. His pristine white dress uniform couldn't protect him from the massive consequences of his own toxic arrogance.
"Hand over that microphone," the Admiral commanded ruthlessly. "You are relieved of your duties at this event immediately. You will report to my office at 0800 tomorrow morning for a formal disciplinary hearing regarding conduct unbecoming of an officer."
Wyler’s hands shook violently as he handed the black wireless microphone to Chief Hayes.
The Admiral gestured to the two military security sailors standing near Sarah. The sailors, tightly holding the leashes of their highly trained German shepherds, immediately stepped forward and flanked the disgraced lieutenant.
"Escort him off the premises," the Admiral ordered.
