Chapter 5 - The Embezzlement Trap
Nolan backed away, intimidated by the massive CEO, but his toxic ego refused to submit.
"You can't threaten me, Graham!" Nolan spat desperately. "I am a top analyst at your firm! If you fire me over a personal dispute, I will sue the company for wrongful termination!"
Graham let out a dark, humorless laugh that echoed off the crystal chandeliers.
"I'm not firing you over a personal dispute," Graham replied quietly. "I'm firing you for massive corporate embezzlement."
Nolan stopped breathing. The air in his lungs turned to absolute ice.
"I... I don't know what you're talking about," Nolan stammered, frantically looking around the quiet restaurant to see who was listening.
"Did you really think you could funnel company funds into a fake offshore consulting firm to pay for Vanessa's diamond ring, and I wouldn't notice?" Graham asked, completely devoid of human empathy. "I own the servers, Nolan. I tracked every single wire transfer you made over the last six months."
Vanessa, who had crept closer to the VIP table to hear the conversation, let out a loud gasp.
"He stole the money for my ring?!" Vanessa shrieked, looking at Nolan in absolute horror.
"He didn't just steal the ring money," Graham stated, looking directly at the panicked mistress. "He stole three million dollars from my clients. And as of ten minutes ago, my forensic accounting team has frozen all of his accounts, and yours."
Vanessa’s face turned the color of wet chalk. "My accounts?! Why mine?!"

"Because he used your name to set up the shell company, Vanessa," Emma revealed calmly, delivering the ultimate, devastating blow. "You aren't just his fiancée. You are his legally documented accomplice."
