Chapter 7 - The Enforcers Arrive

Driven by pure, animalistic desperation, Marcus realized his life was completely over. He didn't try to beg anymore. He aggressively reached under his gray suit jacket for his suppressed tactical pistol, fully intending to assassinate Rhett and silence Isa forever.
He was far too slow.
Before Marcus's fingers could even grip the handle of his weapon, heavy, echoing footsteps flooded the hallway behind him.
Four massive, heavily armed syndicate enforcers stormed through the open apartment door. They didn't hesitate for a microsecond.
Two enforcers tackled Marcus to the linoleum floor with bone-crushing force. They brutally disarmed the treacherous Underboss, twisting his arms behind his back and pinning him down under their heavy tactical boots.
Marcus screamed in absolute agony as his shoulder popped.
Rhett didn't even flinch. He calmly adjusted the cuffs of his tailored black suit. He walked over and looked down at the bleeding, humiliated monster writhing on the floor.
"You put your hands on a woman under my protection," Rhett whispered, his pitch-black eyes entirely devoid of human mercy. "You are dead to me."
"Rhett, I beg of you! I'll go to the police! I'll confess to the embezzlement! Just let me go to federal prison!" Marcus sobbed, tears and drool ruining his expensive suit.
"You aren't going to prison," Rhett replied smoothly.

Rhett looked up at his massive guards. "Take him to the basement at the docks. And call the Russian syndicate. Tell them Marcus was the one who skimmed from their diamond shipment last year. Let the wolves handle the thief."
👉 The enforcers dragged the screaming traitor into the hallway, leaving Rhett to finally turn back to the terrified woman.
