Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Justice

"You wicked, jealous girl!" their mother shrieked, lunging forward from the back of the room. "I will destroy you in the press! I am your mother!"

Claire didn't even flinch. She looked at her mother with absolute, chilling indifference.

"The press already has the financial records, Mother," Claire replied smoothly. "And since your personal suburban estate was used as collateral for Adam’s failed loans, Vanguard Holdings owns that too. You have until noon to pack your bags."

"Security," Claire commanded without raising her voice.

Three massive, heavily armed guards stepped into the boardroom. They didn't ask nicely. They grabbed the weeping, completely broken Adam by the arms, forcefully hauling him to his feet. They grabbed Vanessa and the screaming mother, herding them aggressively toward the exit.

"Claire, I beg of you!" Adam shrieked in pure agony as he was physically dragged out the heavy mahogany doors, his entire fake life entirely destroyed in less than twelve hours.

The doors slammed shut, permanently locking the treacherous, parasitic family out of Claire's empire forever.

Claire sat down in the heavy leather CEO chair at the head of the table. She didn't need their validation. She had built her own kingdom, and she had finally cleaned house.

If you were Claire, would you have warned Adam about the SEC investigation, or was letting him get dragged out by security the absolute perfect revenge?
