Chapter 3 - The Golden Boy's Delusion

A tight, extreme close-up captured Claire’s face. The heartbroken sister completely evaporated. In her place sat a terrifying, highly calculated apex predator who had just realized she was financially supporting a family of parasitic monsters.
Adam leaned back in his chair, aggressively adjusting his expensive navy suit jacket.
"Still trying to convince everyone you're successful, Claire?" Adam mocked, looking down at her with absolute, unfiltered disgust. "You're pathetic. You have nothing."
To understand the absolute insanity of Adam’s arrogance, one had to look at the meticulously hidden financial reality of their family.
When their father passed away five years ago, he left his massive commercial real estate company entirely to Adam, the "golden boy." Adam immediately fired Claire, cutting her completely out of the family wealth and leaving her with nothing but a tiny severance package.
For five years, Adam paraded around New York as a billionaire CEO.
But Adam was a complete fraud. He had run their father's legacy directly into the ground. The company was drowning in millions of dollars of hidden corporate debt, surviving entirely on the cash injections of a massive, anonymous private equity firm.
