Chapter 1 - The Cruel Eviction

The tension in the American suburban dining room was absolutely suffocating.

Half-eaten dinner plates and expensive wine glasses sat abandoned on the heavy wooden table. Sixty-eight-year-old Camila stood near her chair, tightly clutching her worn brown purse. She wore a simple pink cardigan over a crisp white blouse. Her eyes were filled with profound, agonizing sorrow.

Standing directly across from her was her son, Theo.

Theo was in his early thirties, wearing a white v-neck sweater and designer jeans. His face was twisted with aggressive, toxic entitlement. He pointed a trembling, furious finger directly toward the heavy mahogany front door.

"Walk out of my house and never come back!" Theo shouted, his voice echoing violently off the dining room walls.

Standing in the arched doorway was his wife, Khloe. She wore an elegant dark green wrap dress, her arms crossed tightly over her chest. A smug, highly satisfied smirk played on her lips as she watched her mother-in-law being publicly humiliated.

Sitting frozen at the wooden table was nine-year-old Hugo. The little boy stared down at his dinner plate, tears streaming silently down his cheeks, terrified of his father's booming voice.

Camila didn't scream back. She didn't throw a plate. She simply looked at her son, her heart shattering into a million jagged pieces.

👉 Camila stayed perfectly silent, entirely unaware of the vicious lie her daughter-in-law had told to orchestrate this exact moment.
