For the past three years, Camila had lived quietly in the attached guest suite of the massive suburban estate. She helped raise little Hugo, cooked family meals, and stayed entirely out of the way.
But Khloe despised her. Khloe wanted Camila’s spacious first-floor suite to build a massive, custom luxury walk-in closet for her growing collection of designer bags.
To get rid of her mother-in-law, Khloe had spent the last six months planting toxic seeds in Theo’s mind. She lied, claiming Camila was stealing her jewelry, insulting her parenting, and secretly trying to turn little Hugo against them.
Tonight was the boiling point. Khloe had intentionally ruined the family dinner, picking a vicious fight with Camila over a spilled glass of wine, playing the helpless victim perfectly.
Theo, a man who believed his massive tech company success made him a god, instantly took his wife's side.
"You know when you're not welcome," Khloe stated coldly from the doorway, her green wrap dress swishing as she shifted her weight. "You have completely overstayed your charity, Camila. It’s time for you to go to a retirement home."
