Chapter 4 - The Pet Cam Confession

The heavy mahogany doors of their luxury Chicago condo clicked shut behind Victoria. The silence of the sprawling, empty apartment was deafening.
She didn't collapse onto the couch. She didn't weep into his pillows. Victoria walked straight to her home office and booted up her encrypted desktop computer.
Last week, Victoria had purchased a discreet, high-definition pet camera disguised as a bookshelf speaker to keep an eye on their golden retriever while they were away. The camera recorded directly to a secure cloud server, capturing both 4K video and crystal-clear audio of the entire living room.
Victoria accessed the cloud archive, filtering the timestamps to yesterday afternoon when she was out of the house.
The video feed loaded.
There, sitting on her expensive velvet couch, was Julian in his medium blue suit. Sitting straddled across his lap was Sina, wearing her light tan leather jacket.
"When are you going to make her sign the condo over to us?" Sina whined on the recording, kissing his jawline.
"On the island," Julian laughed arrogantly, sipping a glass of Victoria’s expensive wine. "I drained the joint accounts today. She has no leverage. I'll threaten to leave her stranded in Bora Bora with no return ticket unless she legally transfers the deed to this apartment. She's weak. She'll sign anything to avoid public embarrassment."

Victoria watched the screen, her wavy red hair falling over her shoulders. A chilling, deadly calm washed over her entire body. The honeymoon was never about celebrating their marriage. It was a calculated, malicious extortion plot designed to strip her of everything she owned.
👉 Victoria downloaded the lethal video file to a hard drive, ready to make a phone call that would turn Julian's tropical paradise into a living hell.
