Chapter 5 - The Legal Guillotine

Victoria sat in the sleek, glass-walled conference room of downtown Chicago's most ruthless family law firm. Sitting across from her was David, her family’s veteran estate attorney.
David reviewed the bank statements, the forged signature documents, and the transcript of the pet camera recording. The older lawyer slowly took off his reading glasses, shaking his head in absolute disbelief at Julian's staggering stupidity.
"Julian assumes he is legally entitled to fifty percent of your assets because you are married," David stated, leaning back in his leather chair. "He is entirely incorrect."
Victoria offered a cold, cinematic smile. "The trust."
"Exactly," David nodded firmly. "This luxury condo and your primary investment portfolios were purchased entirely through the ironclad generational trust established by your late grandfather. Julian’s name is nowhere on the deed. He has zero legal claim to the property."
David slid a thick stack of fresh legal documents across the glass table.
"Furthermore," David continued, his tone turning predatory. "The eighty thousand dollars he wired to his private account constitutes grand larceny and federal wire fraud. I have already drafted the emergency injunction. We are freezing every single credit card, debit card, and bank account tied to his social security number. By the time his plane lands in Bora Bora, his financial existence will be completely erased."
