Chapter 4 - The Final Drawing

The heavy, suffocating silence in the dining room was dripping with cinematic realism.

Sophia looked up at her terrifying uncle. She wasn't finished.

"There's one more," Sophia whispered softly.

She pulled a second crumpled piece of paper from behind her worn teddy bear and gently laid it on the polished black marble table, right next to the drawing of the medicine bottles.

An extreme, cinematic close-up focused tightly on the second drawing.

It was a messy crayon sketch of a massive, heavily curtained room. Standing in the center of the room was a woman with long, golden blonde hair, wearing a white dress. The woman was holding her hands up to a barred window.

Alessandro stared at the final drawing.

His lethal, terrifying mafia composure violently shattered into a million pieces. His heart physically stopped in his chest. A look of absolute, breathless horror crashed over his handsome face.

The woman in the drawing had a very specific, distinct birthmark shaped like a crescent moon on her left shoulder.

That was his wife, Clara.

But Clara had died in a horrific, explosive car crash three years ago. Alessandro had buried an empty, closed casket because the vehicle had completely burned. Victor had been the one to identify the wreckage.
