Chapter 8 - The Basement Justice

"I'm sorry, Dominic! Please!" Victor wailed hysterically, completely dropping his tough-guy facade as he choked against the wall. "The cartel offered me fifty million! I couldn't say no! Have mercy!"

Dominic felt absolutely zero human empathy for the monster crying in his hallway.

"Take him to the basement," Dominic ordered lethally, gesturing to three fiercely loyal guards who had just sprinted up the stairs after hearing the explosion. "And make sure he understands exactly why he is there before you finish it."

The massive guards violently grabbed the thrashing, panicking Victor, hauling him completely away from the executive wing. His desperate, pathetic cries faded into the distance, ending his massive reign of toxic greed and betrayal forever.

The grand hallway fell into a profound, heavy, and incredibly peaceful silence.

Dominic took a slow, deep breath, adjusting his dark suit. He had just brutally purged his inner circle, and his empire was completely secure.

He opened the mahogany doors to his study.

Maria was sitting on the leather couch, holding Lily tightly in her arms. Both of them were terrified by the sound of the explosion.
