Chapter 4 - The Vicious Fiancée

The grand ballroom erupted into chaos as three massive, heavily armed private security guards immediately rushed forward, grabbing Lena roughly by the arms.
"Don't touch her!" Annie screamed, bursting into tears and clinging desperately to her mother's black skirt.
"Get your hands off me!" Lena yelled, struggling fiercely against the guards, her maternal instincts kicking into hyperdrive as she tried to shield her weeping daughter.
Vanessa stood victoriously in her red designer gown, sipping a glass of champagne with a smug, wicked sneer. She had specifically hired the catering company Lena worked for tonight, completely intending to humiliate the struggling single mother in front of the entire city's elite.
"I won't have the help causing a scene at my engagement party," Vanessa declared arrogantly, playing to the wealthy crowd. "The girl is clearly a pickpocket, and her mother is a delusional stalker. Toss them in the alley where they belong!"
"Stop!"
The deep, booming voice echoed through the ballroom, instantly paralyzing every single person in the room. The sheer, terrifying volume of the command made the crystal chandeliers rattle.
Charles marched forward with the unstoppable, lethal momentum of an apex predator. He didn't just tell the guards to let go. He grabbed the lead guard by the collar of his suit and violently shoved him backward, away from Lena.
"If anyone touches this woman or this child again," Charles growled, his eyes turning blacker than midnight, "I will break your arms."
The guards immediately backed away, raising their hands in absolute submission to the billionaire boss.
Vanessa’s smug smile violently slid off her face. The color drained from her cheeks, leaving her looking pale and suddenly frantic.
"Charles, darling!" Vanessa stammered, stepping forward. "What are you doing? She's just a crazy waitress who ruined the music!"
