Chapter 7 - The Undeniable Proof

The crowd parted instantly as a towering man in a sharp gray suit walked into the center of the ballroom.
It was Marcus, Charles’s Head of Global Security—a fiercely loyal former military operative who managed every single aspect of the billionaire’s empire.
Vanessa’s face violently drained of all color. She looked as though she had just seen the grim reaper himself.
"Marcus, throw her out!" Vanessa demanded, her voice cracking with pure, unadulterated terror.
Marcus didn't even look at the screaming woman. He walked directly up to Charles and handed him a small, heavy digital audio recorder.
"When Miss Vanessa specifically requested this particular catering company for tonight’s gala, it flagged a protocol in our system," Marcus explained smoothly, his voice echoing off the marble walls. "I ran a deep background check on the staff. When I realized Lena was on the roster, I tapped Miss Vanessa’s phone lines."
Marcus pressed a button on the digital recorder.
The crystal-clear audio of Vanessa’s cruel, demonic voice echoed through the dead-silent ballroom.
"Make sure the waitress is assigned to my VIP table. I want that pathetic peasant to watch me put the ring on his finger. If she says a single word about the kid we ran out of town seven years ago, remind her that I still have men who can make the brat disappear."
The recording clicked off.
The silence that followed was absolute, terrifying, and dripping with imminent, inescapable justice.
Charles stared at the recorder, his hands shaking violently with lethal fury. He looked at Vanessa. She was physically trembling, her expensive red gown suddenly looking like a prison uniform. The entire illusion of her power had completely, violently shattered into a million pieces.
