Chapter 7 - The Blood Test

Garrett turned away from the locked doors. His dark eyes were pitch black, entirely stripped of their humanity.
"Where are the papers, Madison?" Garrett whispered, his voice vibrating with a dark, demonic promise of violence.
Madison physically staggered backward, her back hitting the dark paneled wall. "Papers? What papers? Darling, I don't know what you're talking about! That crazy waitress just attacked me for absolutely no reason!"
Garrett took a slow, deliberate step forward.
"You think I'm blind?" Garrett growled softly. "You think I build billion-dollar companies by ignoring the details? I noticed my mother trembling three weeks ago. I noticed she only lost her memory when you were alone in the room with her."
Margaret remained perfectly still in her chair, tears of sheer, overwhelming relief finally spilling down her fragile cheeks. Her son hadn't abandoned her.
"Yesterday morning, while you were at the spa," Garrett continued coldly, "I had my private medical team draw my mother's blood. The toxicology report came back an hour ago. They found lethal, accumulating levels of black-market sedatives in her system."
All the color violently drained from Madison’s perfectly contoured face. Her silver dress suddenly felt like a straightjacket.

"No... Garrett, I swear, it wasn't me!" Madison wept, completely abandoning her high-society persona, dropping to her knees in absolute panic. "It must have been her nurses! It was the staff!"
👉 Madison desperately tried to lie her way out of the trap, but the final, undeniable piece of evidence was about to roll into the room.
