Chapter 9 - The Execution
"You are never going to be my wife," Garrett stated, completely devoid of any human mercy.
He looked at Marcus and offered a single, lethal nod.
"While you were busy playing the victim on the floor," Garrett explained smoothly, "my corporate team finalized a massive financial acquisition. I just bought every single one of your family’s business debts. I liquidated your trust fund to pay for the damages. You are completely, permanently bankrupt."
Madison let out a horrific, high-pitched wail of pure agony.
Two uniformed police officers stepped into the room from the side corridor, holding heavy steel handcuffs.
"Madison Vance, you are under arrest for attempted murder, elder abuse, and extortion," the lead officer announced, stepping forward to grab her arms.
"No! Please! Garrett!" Madison shrieked, thrashing wildly in her expensive silver dress as the officers violently hauled her to her feet.
The officers dragged the screaming, humiliated socialite backward out of the dining room. They didn't take her out the back. They marched her directly through the main lobby, completely exposing her crimes to every single wealthy guest and elite executive in the building.
Her arrogant, toxic existence was entirely swallowed into violent ruin forever. The threat was completely neutralized.
