Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable Bond

Natalie broke down into heavy, beautiful sobs of pure relief, covering her face with her hands. She had struggled in poverty for years, and in a single night, her bravery had completely changed her life forever.
"Thank you, Mr. Gabriel," Natalie wept softly. "Thank you."
"No," Gabriel smiled warmly. "Thank you."
Lily slowly opened her eyes, blinking in the morning sunlight. She sat up in bed and saw her father kneeling beside her.
"Daddy?" Lily whispered sleepily.
"I'm right here, piccola," Gabriel smiled, gently wrapping his strong, tattooed arms around his daughter and pulling her into a warm, unbreakable embrace.
Lily looked over at her nightstand and saw the perfectly repaired gold locket. She gasped, tears of pure joy filling her eyes. She picked it up, opened the clasp, and saw that the picture of her mother had been flawlessly restored.
"You fixed it," Lily cried happily, hugging her father's neck tightly.
"I will always fix it," Gabriel promised, kissing the top of her head. "The bad lady is gone forever. It's just you, me, and Natalie now. We are safe."
In the months that followed, the Barone syndicate completely collapsed into dust. Cassandra was never seen or heard from again, facing the ultimate, brutal justice of the criminal underworld.
