Chapter 9 - The Final Judgment

"No! Damian, you can't do this to me!" Vanessa shrieked as the massive guards grabbed her by her arms, violently yanking her off the floor.
One guard expertly unclasped the priceless emerald necklace from her throat, dropping it onto the marble floor where it shattered. Vanessa kicked and thrashed, her designer heels slipping wildly as they dragged her backward toward the elevator. Her pathetic, screaming cries echoed down the hallway until the heavy steel doors slid shut, cutting her off forever.
The luxury penthouse was finally silent again.
Damian slowly turned his back to the windows. He looked down at the floor, where Grace was still kneeling, holding Noah tightly against her chest.
Grace was trembling, completely overwhelmed by the explosive violence and the terrifying display of absolute power she had just witnessed. She looked up at Damian, her hazel eyes wide with fearful uncertainty. She was just a nanny. She didn't know if she was about to be fired next for causing a mob war.
Damian’s terrifying, cold expression completely melted. The ruthless mafia boss vanished, and the devoted father returned.
He walked slowly over to them. With effortless strength, the boss reached down and gently lifted his three-year-old son into his muscular left arm. Noah immediately wrapped his tiny arms around Damian's neck, burying his face in his father's warm shoulder.
