Chapter 10 - The Bloodline Reclaimed

The absolute devastation of the twenty-year mystery was instantly, beautifully resolved by a mother's agonizing cry.

"Isabella!" Eleanor wept hysterically, throwing her arms fiercely around the trembling woman, pulling her long-lost daughter tightly against her blue sequined gown, entirely ignoring the blood and the shattered glass on the floor.

The entire grand ballroom erupted into complete, unadulterated chaos. The wealthy guests gasped in sheer, overwhelming shock as they realized the humble maid was the deceased, multi-billion-dollar heir returned from the grave.

Vincent Moretti completely froze. He stared at the weeping women on the floor, the truth crashing into his brain with the force of a freight train. He looked at the shape of her eyes, the familiar wave of her brown hair, and the distinct, unmistakable scar.

His beloved sister was alive. She had been scrubbing his floors, and he had completely failed to recognize her.

And then, the overwhelming shock violently morphed into an explosive, terrifying, and absolutely lethal wrath.

Vincent slowly turned around, his piercing, executioner's gaze locking entirely onto Vanessa, who was now trembling violently, her face completely drained of all color, looking paler than the white engagement gown she was wearing.

"You ripped her clothes. You shoved my sister onto broken glass," Vincent stated, his deep voice carrying a dark, terrifying promise of absolute, world-ending destruction.

"Vincent! I didn't know! I swear I didn't know who she was!" Vanessa shrieked hysterically, completely abandoning her arrogant composure as she backed away in pure, suffocating terror.

"It shouldn't matter who she is," Vincent roared, his voice shaking the crystal chandeliers. He violently ripped the diamond engagement ring off her finger, tossing it into the shattered glass. "The engagement is permanently over. Security! Throw this monster out into the street. Now."

Vanessa was dragged out of the luxury gala screaming and crying, completely humiliated in front of the entire city's elite, her dreams of wealth and power permanently, violently erased.

Claire did not return to the service corridors. She was lifted gently from the floor by her brother and her mother, surrounded by an unbreakable fortress of absolute safety, deep tears, and immense, profound love.
