Chapter 6 - The Confession

The cinematic realism of the crushing silence paralyzed the grand ballroom.

Dominic slowly turned his intense, dark eyes back to Norah. The intimidating, untouchable CEO completely vanished. He looked at her, deeply moved, his chest heaving with profound, overwhelming gratitude.

"You didn't fall on the stairs," Dominic whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "You took the hit for her."

Norah looked down at the polished marble floor, entirely humbled, clutching her bruised ribs.

"She looked confused," Norah answered softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't know who she was, Mr. Moretti. I just... I knew she was somebody's mother. I couldn't let her get hurt."

A tight close-up captured Dominic closing his eyes for a fraction of a second, absorbing the sheer, undeniable heroism of the woman standing in front of him. While his arrogant executives were busy mocking her torn dress, she was silently bleeding from saving the most important person in his life.

Gregory, completely oblivious to the emotional weight of the moment, scoffed loudly.

"Oh, please!" Gregory sneered, adjusting his tailored suit. "She probably pushed the old lady into traffic just so she could play the hero and ask for a promotion! She's a manipulative, low-class liar!"
