Chapter 1 - The Crimson Humiliation

The glittering private dining room of the upscale Chicago restaurant was designed for absolute discretion. The heavy mahogany doors were shut tight, muting the ambient jazz from the main dining floor. Warm candlelight flickered off crystal glasses and pristine white tablecloths, setting the stage for what should have been a romantic anniversary dinner.

Instead, the room was suffocating with sudden, violent hostility.

With a vicious flick of his wrist, Garrett violently hurled a full glass of expensive Cabernet directly into his wife’s face.

The dark red wine splashed aggressively across Claire’s elegant black dress, soaking into her skin and dripping from her chin like blood. The heavy crystal glass slammed back onto the table, the sharp clack echoing off the wood paneled walls.

Garrett, wearing a flawlessly tailored suit and a fifty-thousand-dollar watch, leaned forward. His handsome face was twisted into a mask of pure, unadulterated entitlement.

"Pay, or this ends tonight," Garrett threatened, his voice dropping into a lethal, aggressive whisper.

Any other woman would have screamed. Any other woman would have burst into tears, completely shattered by the sheer, devastating humiliation of being assaulted by the man she loved.

Claire did not cry. She didn't flinch. She sat perfectly still in her chair, her eyes locking onto her husband with a terrifying, cinematic calmness that made the temperature in the room instantly plummet.

👉 Garrett thought he had just broken his wife into submission, but he had no idea he was sitting across from an apex predator.
