Chapter 22 - bravery
The leader of the thugs sneered contemptuously upon seeing a greenhorn kid daring to stand in their way. He swung an iron pipe, intending to deliver a warning blow straight to Evan's head.
But Evan did not flinch. He remembered the lessons about calmness that his father had taught him. The moment the iron pipe swung down, Evan dodged with incredibly astonishing speed.
With a viciously precise arm lock, Evan neatly disarmed the thug, simultaneously delivering a sweeping kick to his shin that sent him collapsing to the floor in agony. The henchmen behind were stunned.
Not giving them time to recover, Evan charged into the encirclement, utilizing highly effective defensive strikes to protect the children behind him. He fought with extraordinary bravery.
However, the sheer number of enemies was too overwhelming. They began to surround and push Evan into a corner. Despite his tenacity, he took a few cowardly sneak attacks that left a trail of fresh blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
The thugs laughed smugly, preparing to deliver the decisive blow to crush the resilient teenager's will. The young students squeezed their eyes shut, not daring to witness the horrific scene.
At that hair-raising moment, the dojo door was once again thrown wide open. A bone-chilling, freezing murderous intent suddenly flooded in, making the entire atmosphere feel completely frozen.
